Academic Readiness
USD 116 has outlined six essential skills and compentencies through our Portrait of a Graduate to prepare our graduates for college, careers and lifelong success after graduation.
Career Readiness
Every student in grades 6-12 use a Postsecondary and Career Expectations Framework to guide them in college and career planning. The fremworks focues on preparing students for life after high school through career exploration and development, postsecondary education, and financial aid and literacy.
Postsecondary Planning
Our postsecondary planning starts early. We want our students to be ready for their journey after high school, whether that is a two or four-year college or university, technical trade school, the military or entering the workfoce. We guide students through career exploration, college applications, financial aid options and resume building.
SchoolLinks
SchoolLinks an interactive college and career readiness platform that gives students the opportunity to discover their interests and strengths, explore careers and career pathways, research colleges and training programs, and set goals for their future.
In Urbana 116, we use SchoolLinks with students across grades 6–12 to provide age-appropriate experiences that grow with our students, helping them move from simply discovering what’s possible to creating a plan for what comes next.
