An Urbana High School senior is one of 700 students nationwide to earn a corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship award.

Kavinder Patel was selected for the Nvidia Corporation Scholarship. Nvidia is a tech company that designs Graphics Processing Units and AI computing platforms. Patel plans to pursue a career in environmental engineering. 

Scholars were selected from students who advanced to the Finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition and met criteria of their scholarship sponsors. National Merit Finalist candidates are judged on their academic skills and achievements, extracurricular accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
