Day 6—Progressive Era Laws in Illinois and the Nation

 

Divide class into groups and provide each group with copies of all the Illinois Progressive Laws and US history textbooks.

 

á      Accidents, child labor, food commission

á      Factories

á      Meat

á      WomenÕs Suffrage

á      WomenÕs working hours

 

The groups will need to read the Illinois laws and find certain national progressive laws in the textbooks to create a timeline of Progressive Era laws.  Give students Progressive Era Legal Timeline Directions and allow them to work for 1-2 class periods.
