Extracurricular Programs

  • Wiley PM - Tutoring for 3-5 grades taught be Wiley teachers to groups afterschool funded through Teen Reach.
  • Park District Program - Afterschool childcare provided by the Urbana Park District
  • After School Child Care Program (ASCCP)- Urbana School District's child care program housed at Wiley for Wiley Students.
  • Breakfast Program - 8:00a.m. to 8:15a.m. each morning, students may come and eat breakfast in the cafeteria.
  • Student Council - Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 elect class representatives to serve on the council. The council organizes spirit days, pencil purchases, and collection of General Mills box tops and Campbell's labels. The funds that student council raise is used to purchase materials determined by the students. Council members poll students to plan activities, purchases, and future endeavors.
  • Wiley Players Club - Students in grades 2 -5 audition and practice to perform dramatic activities. Plays are presented for the whole school in assembly and for the community.
  • Safety Patrol - Open to 4th and 5th graders. The Wiley Safety Patrol are student leaders who assist fellow students at crossings, on schools grounds, and as bus monitors.
  • Young Achievers - This group of Wiley students is sponsored by the Thurgood Marshall National Honor Society. Students are selected using district criteria to represent the school.
