The international ThinkQuest Competition is for teams of students ages 12-19 to develop web based educational projects in one of five categories: Science & Mathematics, Interdisciplinary, Social Science, Arts & Literature, and Sports & Health. The team of Abigail Peters, Sarah Swinford, and Heather Ginger, coached by Connie Minnes and Pamela Van Walleghen entered the Sports & Health category with SAFETY ON THE GO. Over 750 teams submitted entries in the '99 competition. On September 24, 1999 the 150 semi-finalists were announced. SAFETY ON THE GO was a semi-finalist. The three eighth grade girls were featured on the local news and in school district publications. Congratulations to Abigail, Sarah and Heather!
