Note from “Eclipse Day”
Dear UMS Families,
I hope that your students have positive reports for you now that all of our students have made it through day one. Today we ran an alternate bell schedule in order to have time for all students to view the eclipse. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and all students had a chance to view this amazing sight.
We experienced some complications today. Skyward, our student information system, was not functioning all day, and we were unable to access student schedules. Lack of Skyward access also meant that we could not correct any student schedule errors. This presented several challenges for some of our students and staff. At this time, Skyward is working, and we will be able to make any corrections starting tomorrow. Please email me or your student’s counselor with any schedule questions, and we will continue to work to resolve those questions.
This was my twentieth first day of school as an educator, and I continue to be amazed at the effort and work of teachers and support staff. I hope all of our UMS families know thatevery adult at UMS is dedicated to providing a high quality education for your student.
I am looking forward to a typical day of school tomorrow with all of our students here following a regular schedule.
