Welcome to the Greyhound Gallery

This is an ongoing project in Mrs. Cooper's class. Each semester, the student's in Mrs. Cooper's classes learn about the fate of the racing greyhounds. Mrs. Cooper and her family have rescued two greyhounds, Greg Norman, and Lexus. The highlight of this project of course is when one of the dogs gets to come to school for the day and be a model for the art students. The artists renderings are then scanned, and placed on the internet for the world to see.

In 1996,The Greyhound Gallery attracted many people from around the world. The first week the website was up and running, the students recieved over 100 e-mail messages from all over the world! The students put up a map in the classroom, and placed pins in each city/state/country from which e-mail messages were sent. The students were amazed that someone in Australia was able to view their artwork!

In 1998, Mrs. Cooper was awarded a $1000 grant from Compaq for integrating technology into the art program. This grant enabled the art department to purchase a color printer, and a scanner.

Work continues each semester. Please check back often, as we are always adding more Greyt art!
