Pinus strobus
The Eastern White Pine is the largest eastern conifer. At one time it was rarely
ever found for a fullgrown Eastern White Pine to be shorter than two-hundred fifty feet
tall. This tree has pine cones from 5"-11" long and up to 2 1/2" wide. This tree grows
from the Ohio River to the Allegenies to Georgia.
The bark of this tree is smooth, greenish brown, and thin. The needles of this tree are the only ones with five needles to a bundle.
