Introducing Nancy Clinton

Nancy Clinton was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona where she attended elementary and high school. In Tucson, Arizona, she attended the University of Arizona for both her Bachelorıs and Masterıs degrees. Her teaching experiences have included high school and middle school levels. Each school was very different from one another. The first two years were high schools in Tucson and Phoenix. Form there, Nancy moved to the Midwest and was a mathematics teacher at Charleston Jr. High School, Arthur High School, and Centennial High School.

After a number of years and wide variety of teaching experiences, Nancy returned to school at the University of Illinois and earned a second Masterıs degree with an Administrative Certificate. At that point, she moved into a position as Department Chairperson of the Centennial High School Math Department. From there, Nancy became a Dean of Students for one year, summer school principal for Champaign Unit 4 and an assistant principal at Franklin Middle School. The past six years, Nancy has been assistant principal at Edison Middle School.

Her son, Justus, attended Champaign schools and they were both at Centennial together. Justus has graduated from Illinois State University and is a police officer in the Bloomington-Normal area. He and his wife, Lori, are expecting their first baby this summer! Nancyıs younger son, Travis, who enjoys playing football, will be a senior at Centennial in the fall. Their dog, Jersey, a Miniature Schnauzer, is the only other female in the household.

When able to find time away from school, Nancy walks for pleasure and exercise. A particular favorite place is Allerton Park during the seasonal changes. She finds sporting events, plays and decorating most enjoyable. Spending time with her two sons is another favorite past time of hers.

Enthusiastically, Nancy looks forward to getting to know the staff, students, and parents at Urbana Middle School. She is also excited to meet the community leaders and members who support our school.
