*On days when the librarian has no meetings, the library will remain open for an additional 20 minutes after school.
Using the library during school hours, lunch and open 8th period:
- If you are coming from a class you need to have a pass. Punch your pass in the time clock when you enter and sign in. Punch the pass in the time clock and sign out when you leave.
- If you are on lunch, sign in clearly and indicate that you are on lunch. The librarian can issue you a lunch pass that will allow you to go back and forth from the library to the cafeteria. The pass is good for the month in which it is issued.
- If you do not have an 8th hour, you are welcome to stay in the library, but you must be ON-TIME. That means arrive before the 8th hour second bell. If you arrive later you will need a pass or a late slip.
CHECKOUTS:
- Most library books have a two week loan period. If a student needs a book longer, she can renew it by bringing the book to the library for another two week loan, or stopping by with a phot ID so the librarian can renew the book online.
- A student may have up to 5 items at a time. A photo ID is needed for check-out.
- Books may be returned to the library or the locked book box on the 2nd floor right outside the main office.
- If a student has fines over $3.00 he can not check out any more items until the fine is paid down to $3.00 or less.
- Students are responsible for the books they check out; students will be charged the price of replacing lost or destroyed books.
- Overdue notices are sent out periodically - but students are responsible for returning books even if they are not notified that items are overdue.
- Fines need to be settled toward the end of the year or students will be unable to attend prom or graduation ceremonies.
FINES:
- $.05 a day for most overdue items.
- $.0.25 a day for overdue 3-day/reserve.
- $1.00 a day for overdue reference
