Against Banning Books

Banned Books Online This is a great resource. It is a regularly updated page on books that have been the object of censorship or censorship attempts.

The File Room - print - Archives of censored print materials. Click on the "Literature" link to browse titles and the information about them. This site, started in Chicago, is maintained by the National Coalition Against Censorship (see below).

NCAC (National Coalition Against Censorship) - books issues page This page has an extensive (recent to 1996) list of "incidents" regarding book challenges/censorship. on global environmental issues.

Beacon for Freedom An international database of banned materials. Can be searched by author and title. Does not include all banned materials.

ALA Banned Books Week site The American Library Association spearheads a weeklong celebration of intellectual freedom. Explore the links, especially on the sidebarfor (click on the "Background" link)
