Urbana HS was linked with 3 other high schools in the US and Canada. The schools were in Nashville, TN; Magnolia, Texas; and Ardrossan, Canada. Global Nomads Group in New York City facilitated a conversation about the crisis in Darfur among the schools. Pictures

Urbana along with 4 other schools were connected with an expert on the issue. The guest speaker was Mark Hanis, Founder & Executive Director of the Genocide Intervention Network, an organization created with the mission to empower citizens and communities with the tools to prevent and stop genocide. He gave a brief overview of recent developments, and then answered students' questions directly. Pictures
