Illinois College Exposition (ICE)
An IACAC Regional College Fair Hosted by Parkland College
in cooperation with your area high schools

Illinois College Exposition (ICE)

Parkland College Gymnasium, Champaign, IL

Wed., Sept. 19, 2012, 6 - 8 P.M.

    • Visit with representatives from dozens of in-state and out-of-state colleges and universities. Learn about programs, campus activities, admission requirements.
    • Get answers to your questions: Local counselors and college financial aid representatives will be available to assist families.
    • Reps of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will answer questions on state and federal grants, loans, and scholarships.

To get the most from the Expo:

    • Print out some address lavels with your name, address, phone, email address, high school and year or graduation. Use these to "fill out" the college info request cards. It's quick and readable.

    • Check the list of colleges attending, then look at the floor plan/map. Take a minute to plan your visit route.

    • Visit out-of-area schools first. More local schools are much easier to contact and visit. Don't wait in line to talk to a nearby school and miss talking to a rep from a school from farther away.

    • Pick up business cards of the reps you speak with. Jot a note on the back so you remember them if you wish to follow up with them later.

Below is a list of school that participated in the 2011 Illinois College Expo at Parkland. Beginning in early September 2012, this list will be updated with 2012 ICE participants. Please check back often in September, as schools add right up tot he day or so before the Expo.

Each college's name is linked to its web site. Many schools have a "Prospective Students" link to give focused information on the school, admissions, campus visits, etc.

This and other regional ICE programs in Illinois are coordinated by the
Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC).

IACAC is the state division of the National Assoc. for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
NACAC has a very authoritative web site for students (and parents).
The "Steps to College," section is a great place to start.
