Monday Seniors: The Parkland Pathway priority filing date is today.

The Spring Musical will have auditions after school today. We need singers, actors, and dancers for this production. Or be part of the creative team with lighting, sound, makeup, costumes, and more. My Favorite Year is a newer musical that gives the audience a great adventure. Sign up for auditions on the auditorium door or see Mr. Chew for more information.

Students: If you would like to play in the Students vs. Staff Basketball Game, please sign up on the big orange sign in the Commons today.

The Jostens representative will be in the Commons during 6th hour on Wednesday to distribute graduation announcement orders.

The French Club will meet today after school at 3:30pm in room 1166. We will be watching the “Triplets of Belleville,” the French animation about a character in the Tour de France. English subtitles and refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to join.

Cheer on the junior and senior girls in the second annual Powder Puff Football Game TONIGHT at 5pm on the Football Field. Concessions will be available. Admission is $2. The Junior Class is selling fan gear at the game, but reservations for official 2010 shirts are being taken in room 2184. T-shirts are $10. Girls who have signed up to play your shirts are here. Pick them up today in Mr. Foley’s room and don’t forget to turn in your permission slip and your money while you at it!

The Perfect Prom Project will be held at the Illini Union on April 18th from 10am-3pm. Free Prom dresses, accessories, and make-up will be available. All you need is your high school ID.

Juniors: If you are interested in attending the U of I upon graduation, join us on a field trip to UIUC on April 1st. Students will be getting admission, application, financial aid, and resource information during the tour. Please get applications from Ms. Kokkosis in room 1198. Applications are due Tuesday. The trip is limited to 45 students.

Do you want to make new friends and talk about important issues affecting today’s teens? Sign up for Student Senate’s Harmony Week in the Commons! Harmony Week is March 29th-April 1st. Students should be aware that they will miss two periods of school each day for activities.

The Defending Champion Senior Class Powder Puff Team will meet immediately after school today on the Football Field.

The 2010-11 Cheerleading informational meeting is at 3:30pm on Wednesday in the Health Room. You will receive all necessary tryout forms and info at this meeting. Males and gymnasts are encouraged to attend!

Recapture Session 4 registration forms are now in the Counseling Office. Session 4 will run March 29th thru May 6th. Classes offered are: WS Eng., Biology 1, WS Soc. Studies, US Hist. (1st semester), and PE. The last day to sign up is Wednesday.

The 4th Annual Mr. Urbana Pageant is Thursday in the Auditorium at 7pm. Don’t miss it! Come out and support the awesome young men competing for the “Best of the Best” at UHS.

Any student wishing to attend the Latino Youth Conference, please stop by the Guidance Office to pick up the permission slip. Permission slips need to be signed and returned to the Guidance Office by the end of school on March 31st.

The Urbana FFA placed 2nd in the FFA State Poultry Contest. Hannah Blaney was the Individual State Champion in Poultry and Anna Freyfogle was the 7th Highest Individual in Poultry. The Urbana FFA also placed 14th in the State Meats Competition. Team members were Brennan McClimon, Carolina Jimenez, Chad Blaney, Drew Harmon, and Cody Watson.

The 6th and final Calculator Mini-Math is TODAY. This is your last chance to try a calculator mini-math contest this year! It is offered 4th hour lunch in 2164, 5th hour lunch in 2216, 6th hour lunch in 3164, and after school in 3164.

GIRLS interviews will be held at UHS today and at the Champaign Public Library on Wednesday.

The next Book Club selection is now available in the library. It is Nevil Shute’s A Town Like Alice, and we’ll be discussing it on April 22nd. Any student is welcome to participate. See Mr. Murrey in the library if you have any questions.

The Naomi Jakobsson State Representative 103rd District Scholarship is due April 30th.

Team 1 would like to recognize Brian Lopez, Jose Orosco, and Gerardo Barreda for the constant hard work this semester. Keep up the good work!

Art Club will meet Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm in room 1138 to do a clay monoprint project.

The calculator Mini-Math contest that had to be cancelled yesterday will be rescheduled for March 30th.

Payment for the Senior Trip is due Friday! Candy sale money is also due Friday. Please bring money to Ms. Godoy in the Computer Lab. If you signed up but decided not to attend, let Mr. Neal or Ms. Godoy know ASAP.
