The following message is in observance of Mental Health Awareness Week:  The most common mental illness in America is anxiety.  It is normal to feel stress before a test or when presenting before your class; however, when anxiety keeps you from doing things you really want or need to do, it is a problem.  Unfortunately, due to the stigma surrounding mental health problems, many people try to handle stress on their own.  It doesn't have to be this way.  What a difference a friend makes.  Ask a school or health care counselor today for more information on how to beat anxiety.

The following message is in observance of Mental Health Awareness Week:  Mental health is how we think, feel, and act.  There are no bad feelings to have.  Anger, sadness, and stress are feelings that everyone has.  You are not the only one.  We cannot control when or why we have feelings; however, we can control what we do with those feelings.  Anger causes many mental health problems when not expressed appropriately.  There are better options.  See a school or health center counselor to ask questions.
