Coaches Notes:
April 1
Urbana girls softball lost a heartbreaker to Villa Grove yesterday 6-3. The Tigers pounded out 9 hits including 2 hits each from Sheena McNeil and Jasmine White. The lady Tigers also stole 5 bases lead by Kristi Haines with 2 stolen bases who also had a double. Bree Lipscomb who had her first career high school hit had a double as well. Courtney Lynch pitched all 7 innings without walking a batter and had a great defensive game as well. Urbana takes on Downers Grove South on Saturday at 9 A.M. at the Central Invitational.
April 11
The softball team won their first games of the year which turned out to be a double header sweep over Georgetown-Ridgefarm on Saturday. Kirstie Ruthstrom was 6-7 with 6RBI's for the day. Stacey Peters and Kristi Haines had 3 stolen bases each as the team had 9 stolen bases for the day. Sheena McNeil and Stacey Peters also had 3 hits each on the day.
April 15
Urbana won it's third game in a row by beating Mahomet 6-4 on Wednesday. The Tigers were led by Jasmine White with 3 hits and 3 RBI's. Urbana also had offensive help by Stacey Peters, Kristi Haines and Sheena McNeil who all had 2 hits a piece. Courtney Lynch went the distance scattering 8 hits, striking out 5 and walking just 1 batter. Urbana improves to 3-5.
April 18
The Urbana softball team got out their brooms and swept Decatur McArthur on Saturday 7-6 and 17-7 and improved to 5-7 for the year. The Tigers scored 23 runs, had 30 hits and 15 stolen bases for the day to earn their first conference win on the season. Jasmine White had 5 hits and 4 RBI's on the day. Kirstie Ruthustrom drove home the winning run in the first game in the bottom of the 8th inning. Stacey Peters had 4 stolen bases for the day and Reba Perry went 9-9 on the day.
April 23
Urbana won its 2nd straight conference game with a 5-3 victory of Centennial. Shannon Fitzgerald had 2 hits and Courtney Lynch pitched the distance scrattering 8 hits and walking none for her 4th victory. Urbana was helped by 6 Centennial errors and stole 7 bases. Urbana improves their record to 6-8 while Centennial drops to 2-11.
April 30
Urbana used 15 hits to power its way past Central 9-5. Jasmine White went 4-5 with 4 RBIs and Sheena McNeil went 3-5 to lead the way. Reba Perry and Brittany Likens also had 2 hits for Urbana 7-13. Courtney Lynch went the distance to earn her 5th win of the year. Monica Rondon had 2 hits including a triple for the host team.
May 19th
Senior Sheena McNeil drove home Jasmine White in the bottom of the 8th inning to give Urbana a 6-5 win over Central on senior day. Another senior, Shannon Fitzgerald added 2 hits and had 3 RBIs. Jasmine white also had 2 hits for Urbana.
