Gerber Cheetah and the character traits

Character Traits and the Gerber Cheetah

The Gerber program aspires to be a bridge to our students’ future success; a program where students can learn a combination of academic, behavioral, vocational, recreational, and relational skills that are needed to move them toward future independence. Due to disabilities and/or life transitions, many youth are educationally behind their grade level peers when they enroll at Gerber. Highly-skilled special education teachers and teaching assistants work as a team to provide individualized, research-based educational and social-emotional support. Gerber staff utilize research-based curriculum and interventions, focusing lessons on state standards and independent student data to drive instruction with the goal of transitioning our students to less restrictive educational placements. We believe all students can succeed and take great joy and pride in helping them recognize that as well.
