Tech outside the classroom
Students in Shalonda Carr’s 5th grade ESL class are combining technology to present their research in a whole new way. The students created history presentations and are using mobile technology in an innovative way to bring their work to their audience. The students published their presentations on a web site. Then, they put together QR codes and placed those in the hallway outside their classrooms. The QR codes, as seen in the pictures below, can be scanned by any smart phone with a bar code reader application. Once scanned, the application will send the viewer to the web site with that particular student’s report. Students have not only learned about a subject in history, research and putting together a presentation, but they have also learned how to use technology in and out of the classroom. Great job!
