Urbana High School Honors Choir Wraps Up Busy Holiday Season
“The students know the commitment they are getting themselves into, as it is stated in the course description and Choir Handbook. The kids love to perform in the community. Many of our students are able to maintain academic success and participation in the fine arts. We have to turn many organizations away each year because the students need to be in school. However we find many times to sneak away in the evenings, weekends, and occasionally during the school day to spread holiday cheer,” Franklin says. The choir’s engagements included appearing on the WCIA-TV Morning Show and on NewsTalk 1400 WDWS and the “Penny for Your Thoughts” program. The choir also performed at Lincoln Square Mall, the District 116 Central Office Open House, several community luncheons, and churches. Several organizations donated money to the Urbana High School Choir after the performance. |
