Urbana High School Students Honored by Local Exchange Club
Members of the Urbana National Honor Society were recognized for their scholarship at the annual Urbana Exchange Club Honors Luncheon and Youth Awards.
The Urbana Exchange Club has recognized the members of the UHS National Honor Society for several years. The students receive a certificate at the luncheon. The club also honors a Youth of the Month and Youth of the Year.
Phil Hoggett, Exchange Club President, says the club is very pleased to have this partnership with UHS to honor academic achievement. Hoggett is an alum of Urbana High School and he's pleased to see today's students. "This is a great crop of kids. We really appreciate all of the teachers, staff, and district administrators. We have a great school system in Urbana," he comments.
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Don Owen, congratulated the Honor Society students, saying, "On behalf of Dr. Williams, Superintendent of Urbana Schools, and on behalf of all of the faculty, all of the principals, all of the district administrators, I would just like to say thank you to the Exchange Club for hosting this event and congratulations to all of you students for all of the work, effort and achievement you have earned here. It's really a refreshing way for me to spend the middle of my day with you. Congratulations and best of luck!"
Congratulations to all of the UHS National Society students!
