Superintendent's Message

Dear Students, Families and Friends,

Superintendent Williams

Welcome to Urbana School District #116. We look forward to introducing you to the uniqueness that is our district. We are very proud of the rich heritage of Urbana schools and the alumni that have gone on to make very positive contributions to society. Our students excel, and many of our graduates enter some of the finest higher educational institutions throughout the world.

We are in the midst of realigning our core curriculum to meet the needs of an ever changing educational landscape. Many of our district initiatives focus on instruction and assessment and how we can better meet the needs of our entire student body. We believe in the adage, “if students aren’t learning the way you teach, then teach the way they learn.” Please take the opportunity to visit our website for more detailed information concerning our curricular updates.

The Board of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to our mentoring program by investing district resources in maintaining this vital program. continued
