Illinois State Board of Education Recogonizes District 116 Finances
The Illinois State Board of Education (www.isbe.net) recently sent a letter of congratulations to Urbana School District #116 for achieving "Financial Recognition," which is the highest financial profile rating for a school district in the state.
In a letter sent to District 116, State Board of Education Superintendent Christopher Koch noted, "Given the challenges that are faced by school districts, the Illinois State board of Education commends you for achieving excellent financial results. It is my hope that you will consider mentoring other districts to share your knowledge of finance and business."
District 116 Director of Business and Finance, Carol Baker, says, "Our goals are to continue to balance the budget even in this challenging economy. We are always looking for new resources, potential areas for savings, and being more efficient with the funding we receive. It is due to the hard work across the District that we have reached this level of financial recognition."
