BANJO BASICS - Bring your banjo and let Mike Jones help you learn the basic techniques used in playing the five-string banjo. These include: tuning, basic strum, rolls, hammer-on, pinch, slide, choke, chords, and reading tablature. This class is designed for beginning players. Booklet fee of $6 payable in class. Class begins Feb. 27.

INTRODUCTION TO GUITAR - This is an introductory course for those who have never played the guitar, or have only poked around at it. Basic instruction in chording and strum techniques and an introduction to finger-picking. Supply fee of $10 payable in class. Class begins Feb. 28. Instructor: Kathleen Everingham.

A SONG CIRCLE - A Song Circle allows us to sing for the JOY of singing! If you want to sing with others, if you feel shy about your voice, or if you just want to explore singing and practice this creative expression further, then JOIN us! Singing in a song-circle is a fun and easy way to learn new traditional folk songs. Students are encouraged to bring copies of songs you especially want to share. Song books will be discussed at the first class meeting. We will be singing primarily acapella. Class begins Apr. 3. Instructor: Jamie Lou Carras.
