EASY EVERYDAY BREAD – Do you love fresh bread from the bakery but are horrified at the price?  Are you nervous about baking with yeast?  Do you think making bread is too time consuming and complicated to bother with?  Are you worried you don’t have the right tools?  Do you have a bowl, a spoon and a cookie sheet in your kitchen?  If so, then this class is for you!  Based on the book “Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day,” you will learn how to make fabulous home-baked bread with only 4 ingredients, minimal prep time, no fancy tools and best of all, no kneading!  This technique is easy and fast enough to bake fresh bread every day and flexible enough that you can make rolls, pizza crust, etc., all from the same dough.  I’ll show you how in class!  Please bring a covered container to class to take home dough.  Please come hungry!  Class meets Mar. 7.  Instructor: Birgit McCall.

Join Tien Douglas as she takes you on a culinary tour of Asia.  She will show you how to prepare great dinners from across the Continent.  Come and participate in the hands-on creation of some of Asia’s most famous and traditional dishes.

NEW!  VIETNAMESE DINNER – Nothing is as comforting in cold weather as Bun Bo Hue, an amazing noodle soup with pork and beef.  To compliment this, a Vietnamese twist on egg rolls will be introduced that features taro potato in place of cabbage.  A sweet rice dessert will be presented and enjoyed along with Vietnamese coffee, which uses a dark chicory flavored French Roast mixed with condensed milk.   Class meets Mar. 12.

FOOD ON A STICK MEAL – How many ways can you enjoy food on a stick?  The answer is uncountably many.  We’ll explore a few of them with a Thai and Vietnamese bent.  This includes the popular Thai chicken satay, a Vietnamese shrimp paste on sugar cane stick delicacy, as well as some surprise sticked foods to be revealed later.  Class meets Apr. 30.

NEW!  LEARNING TO LOVE WORKING & COOKING WITH FRESH HERBS - We’ll meet at The Herbery of The White Dove Garden in the aromatic and beautiful dining room.  Alisa will teach you the basics of working with each herb creating excellent recipes.  You can learn to truly appreciate the taste of each herb, falling in love with them!  There are only 6 seats available for each section of the workshops offered throughout the Spring semester, so register early.  Everyone will get a potted herb of their choice to take home!  Each workshop meets only once but is offered 3 times for your convenience.  Sections 1, 2 & 3 will feature Basil, Oregano & Chives.  Sections 4, 5 & 6 will feature The Fines Herbes which include True French Tarragon, Chervil, Chives & Parsley.
