STARTING YOUR OWN SMALL BUSINESS - This can be a creative option for the person who has a marketable service, product or idea.  Instructor Debra Karplus has founded and operated numerous local businesses since 1974 and writes a weekly financial column for the nationally known Young Money.  In this two-part seminar she will lead a discussion in advantages and disadvantages, logistics, marketing and legal aspects of opening your own small business.  She will also present an informative video.  Class begins Jan. 27.

THE BUSINESS ASPECT OF ART - If you would like to gain knowledge of the business side of art, this is the class.  Deborah Fell, a well known quilt artist, will facilitate discussion including the following topics:  marketing your work, portfolios, necessary computer skills, artist bios and resumes, the artist statement, venues, electronic portfolios, inventory strategies, copyright issues, accounting and other issues raised by students.  Class begins Mar. 30.
